Benefits of Mindfulness Fitness Practices
Relaxation & Refresh
Help relieve stress, treat heart disease, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, improve sleep, and alleviate gastrointestinal difficulties
Good for health
No matter what your current weight is, being active boosts high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, the "good" cholesterol, and it decreases unhealthy triglycerides.
Mind and Soul
Our mind and body are interconnected and affect each other tremendously. Set aside some time each day to do what makes your soul happy (dance, swim, write, paint, garden, etc.).
Yoga for real energy
Yoga & exercise (among other things) delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. When your heart and lung health improve, you have more energy.
Renewing your mind
The idea is to let go of distractions and unrelated thoughts, and focus your attention on your sensations, breath, and the movements of your body.
Might be a natural yet effective alternative to painkillers for reducing chronic pain and its associated distress and depression, according to research from the American Pain Society.
